Care of a leather dress?

how do I go about looking after this. With leather shoes, I have always polished them with shoe polish the very day I bought them and certainly before wearing them. I cant see why I shouldnt use shoe polish on a dress. Leather is leather is leather, surely?

Care of a leather dress?
I have just used vaseline on all my leather goods and it has brought them up beautifully. I wipe them and then buff the excess off. I would hesitate to use shoe polish, as it might be too heavy and also rub off. Always store leather articles in a cloth bag or cover to prevent mould. Never store in plastic, as the garment cannot breath and mould will be more likely to build. If your wardrobe space is near your bathroom, install an extractor fan to reduce humidity. Hope this helps.
