Any antique buffs that could answer a few questions, please?

We've found some interesting stuff in the walls of our 100 year old house. I'm wondering if any of it might have monetary value. If you know, or know of a source where I could find out, I'd really appreciate it. Here are a few of the things:

-Glass bottles with the names of pharmacies (that no longer exist) and name of my town embossed in raised lettering.

-A wooden ruler with the name of a bank (that no longer exists) and my town on it.

-glass Whittemore's Star shoe polish bottle

-A few paper items, like an old church program from 1932, but they're in pretty beat up shape

Do you think anyone would be interested in buying things like this? How do I go about finding out? I've considered eBay already. Is that the best way especially since it's items of local interest? Thanks for your help.

where do you live? if you are near a major metropolitan area, call a local museum and ask for the name of a curator of artifacts from the local area or where you could get them appraised. they will be happy to help you out.

good luck
Reply:Probably locale buffs, auctions and Yes Ebay. It is amazing what collectors do collect!!! As far as valve (?!) check with a good antique dealer who you can trust!!! Obviouslu a collector will pay what they feel it is worth to them! Same goes for ebayers!
