How do I change my skin color temporarily?

I have a great idea for a halloween costume this year but it requires me to be a black person and I'm white. I need to cover my face and both arms from shoulder to fingertips. What could I possibly use? Shoe polish was suggested but that would be one hell of a mess. I think the spray on tan makes you look orange so that won't work either. Please help!

How do I change my skin color temporarily?

Reply:WOWOWOOWOW POOPIE
Reply:Grease Paint or Liquid Latex, both available at costume stores and on the net
Reply:What...being black is a costume. Did you honestly wake up one morning and say, "Hey I know a great costume! I'm guna be black" @$#%%!!!
Reply:color your self black hahhahaha
Reply:Coffee stuff. Coffee paste, ya'know? Use the grinded beans with some sort of water - it works. hehe its fun.
Reply:Magic Marker Is Good And Can Be Washed Off In The Shower.
Reply:a good asbestos based paint
Reply:I did the same thing once for halloween and I used foundation makeup for dark skinned peoples. If you really want it to last use some dark powder too. It will look more real on your arms if you shave them.
Reply:There was a thing called "black face" make up in the 1920-30s but it is now considered controversial and quite offensive. I would rethink your costume choice.
Reply:tanning lotion sound great.... but why don't you just wear black clothes and gloves... it could be easier, you don't want harmful chemicals in your skin.... pigmentation is kinda... dangerous... dont want to end up like michael jackson
Reply:I think they sell body spray paint at party stores...it's usually washable as well.
Reply:go to the dollar shop and get some make up(creme foundation) in the darkest tones you can or better yet, ask a friend with pigment if they would try it with their makeup. If your intent is honest than you will find help and if you mean to be offensive then you deserve to look bad.
Reply:You need to find some stage makeup. You can buy it online or a costume shop.
Reply:Just go to the store where they have halloween costumes and stuff. They always have face paint. IF you don't find the right color, buy a couple of them and mix them together to get the right shade.
Reply:Try permanent black marker (it'll come off when your skin sheds) or try tanning without the orange tanning lotion.
Reply:Don't do it. Some people could be offended. And with good reason. Historically some folks made fun of black folks by doing that. Although the book "Black Like Me" was interesting.

Find a different costume.
Reply:Professional spray-on tan! Otherwise, use make-up (waterproof!)
Reply:MAKE-up? but then white people are really sweaty and your gonna sweat....so ummmm try not to sweat....
Reply:just color yourself with something black...like blood!
Reply:You sound stupid. I wish you were right here so I could smack you senseless. When the hell have you ever seen a black person black as shoe polish. Dumbazz.
Reply:Ask Micheal Jackson, you and I both know he knows.
Reply:Sharpie! ;)
Reply:just go out in the damn sun for a while
Reply:Fake tan! My hero!

And charcoal works.
Reply:Take a bath in your favorite color of ink.
Reply:Im a professional actor so i would know.

Go to the nearest stage make-up store particularlly party city and they should have that for you.
Reply:First of all, make sure you're not going to offend anyone. There is a bad history of white people being black-face, and you don't want to look like that. If you can dress up without painting yourself, I would recommend that route. If you want, use self tanners and just make your skin darker without pushing the black-face effect.

Go to a theater store and get make up from them. Otherwise, get foundation from the makeup isle that's made for darker complexions. Do you have any black friends? Ask them what type of make up they use and have them help you. You can also get a "finishing spray" that will keep your make up from smudging from a theater make up supplier. (I was the ghost of Christmas Future in a show, and my hands and face were covered in make up, and the spray kept it from budging.)

Use astringent, like Clean and Clear, to remove your make up before you wash with soap. It will take off all types of make up with ease. (I was the Wicked Witch a few years ago, and it removed all of the green.)
Reply:I think you need to be very careful with this one. Do not use black shoe polish because no one is actually Black. Why don't you look into a really dark bronzing cream or powder. Try investing in some actual stage makeup like at the link below.
Reply:Spray paint yourself!

(seriously it works)
