What is the name of that movie in the early 80's where the white kid pretends to b black 2 get into college?

This is driving me crazy! He paints himself with black shoe polish to get into a college to play basketball, I think. If I remember correctly, it has somewhat of a racial title, but I can't think of it and it's driving me nuts!! Any help would be great. Thanks, guys! :)

Reply:Soul Man. He took a pill so that he could get a scholarship to Harvard (so he could study law). He noticed that there was one scholarship left and that nobody had applied, or been accepted. The only problem for him was that the winner had to be black, so he took a pill that "darkened" his skin.





It starred C. Thomas Howell, Rae Dawn Chong, James Earl Jones, and Ayre Gross (I think). Howell ended up falling for Rae Dawn Chong and eventually found out that he took her scholarship.
